8' Physical Distance Swim Lessons
at Our Pool or Yours
Due to COVID-19 we've suspended public group classes.

Our innovative physical distance swim lessons allow us to safely teach water safety and swimming by combining teacher-led instruction, CDC distancing protocols and guardian participation.
  • Teacher and student, and/or guardian stay minimum 8' apart.
  • A guardian/competent swimmer provides physical support in the pool to any inexperienced swimmers.
  • Touch points and equipment are sanitized after each student.

Group classes are available only to people who are physical-distancing together. We have no public group swim lessons.

New Jersey has published guidelines for outdoor pools and LifeCycle Swimming is following these protocols. For more information from the state of New Jersey about Covid-19 and swimming, click here.  According to the CDC: "There is no evidence that Covid-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools or hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance and disinfection (e.g. chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes Covid-19."

During these unprecedented times, a pool can become a critical summer refuge, and can also help add structure to the day. Let us continue your family's water safety education to promote safe, fun and relaxation this summer. Lessons can be held in our pool, or in your backyard pool. Read more about New Jersey's guidelines for opening up and swimming in outdoor pools here.

More about 8' Social Distance Swim Lesson Protocols:

  • Wear a mask when social distance cannot be maintained.
  • Use a doll to guide parents on how to hold, support and cue children.
  • Sanitize all toys and equipment used during any class.
  • Provide a list of recommended equipment so clients can purchase if desired (see sidebar).
For Backyard lessons, teacher will:
  • Bring hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes
  • Bring a sanitized lifeguard tube to the property.
  • Not use the owner's bathroom or enter the house.
  • Sanitize anything touched before leaving the property.
