Will I get in the pool the first time we meet? If you're ready, yes. Otherwise, not necessarily. Every student's first class starts on "dry land" in a space selected to give as much privacy as possible, depending on the venue. For example, meetings have started in a quiet spot on the pool deck, or in a meeting room completely away from the pool area. We begin with an assessment. Then I'll review the program with you. Next I share standard introductory information that includes topics such as buoyancy and pool safety protocols. Only when you and I both feel you're ready will we enter the water, as a team, together.
Can I call you about a family member or friend? Yes. That being said, we only work with students who come willingly to learn to conquer their fear of water. To book a class, the student will need to contact me him or her self.
How long does the program take? There is no set time, as each person is different. That being said, the majority of students have developed initial water comfort after six hours of private instruction. Many students find that they need to stick with a regular schedule of being in the water so as not to regress, and to remain confident in their water skills.
