Private LessonsOne-on-one personal instruction usually results in the fastest progress. Class time is wholly dedicated to the success of a student's individual needs, learning style and skill readiness. Instruction can take place in our pool, or your private pool. For toddlers and children classes are 30-minutes. Adults and teenagers have the option of half hour, forty-five-minutes or full hour lessons.
|
Semi-Private LessonsTwo students of similar age and ability are taught together in one thirty or forty-five-minute lesson. Students learn through practice as well as by watching and being motivated by the other student's successes.
With children we establish a fun group dynamic that keeps the class upbeat. Semi-private lessons for kids are arranged by parents who team up siblings or friends to take a class together. Adult students learn, practice, and are trained to give each other feedback. Semi-private adult swim lessons are great for friends, siblings and couples. Adults should find their companion swimmers. |
Backyard Swim LessonsWe travel to you, and teach private or semi-private lessons in your pool. This premium service allows ultimate convenience (no schlepping to a pool!), privacy, and flexible scheduling to meet your needs. Learning to swim in your own pool helps ensure that your family is acutely aware of the unique depth and shape features of your pool, helping to promote the family safety. With backyard swim lessons, you'll also have the satisfaction of getting heightened use out of the investment you make in your pool.
Do you, a friend or neighbor have a pool? Group similarly skilled kids together for a three to four person group lesson in a backyard. More than two students require a lifeguard at additional cost. Home Pool Safety Assessment required before teaching in any private pool. |

Great for a jump start or refresher. Maximum 4-students with 1-teacher. Three levels available.

Guardian + BabySet your child up for a lifetime of safety, fun and fitness by introducing your baby to the water early and safely. This class focuses on teaching safe behaviors in, on and around water, and to develop swimming "readiness." Learn best practices, safety "holds" and a variety of proven techniques to help acclimate your child to the water. Focus is on safety, avoiding accidental water entries, and developing comfort and confidence for both baby and guardian. Songs and colorful water toys make the class fun, engaging and a memorable experience to share with a child.
Ages: 6 months - 3 years. Fees for one guardian and one baby are the same as private lesson fees. For two guardians and their two children, fees are same as for semi-private lessons. |
We help students who learn, behave, move or communicate differently to be safe in and around water, and to swim. We've successfully taught students who experience anxiety, sensory issues, ADHD, fear of water; and students on the autism spectrum. According to the National Autism Association, accidental drowning accounted for approximately ninety percent of total U.S. deaths reported in children with autism ages fourteen and younger, so it's imperative that these students learn basic water safety. We've also worked with students who manage either permanent or temporary physical limitation from a disease such as MS, or an accident. We encourage you to share information and strategies that could help develop a positive, customized, and safe water experience for you or your child. Anything you share will be kept strictly confidential. Depending on the student, a lifeguard (at additional cost) may need to be part of the team. References available. Students with special needs typically require one-on-one private teaching. Fees fall under the private lesson fee structure.

Competitive Stroke RefinementTransform your swimming into a more effective fitness workout, gauge interest in joining a swim team, or peel time off of a triathlon performance. Instruction focuses on stroke refinement of previously learned strokes. We help students gain confidence in their swimming by improving efficiency, developing smoothness and increasing endurance. Refinement goals can focus on any racing stroke - freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke butterfly - efficient turns, or diving (if pool depth allows), or open water swimming techniques.
Fees fall under the private and semi-private fee structure. |
SwimReady for those who Experience Fear or Anxiety around WaterSwimReady is a health and wellness aquatic curriculum designed specifically for non-swimmers and fearful swimmers. Maybe you never learned to swim, or you may be one of almost half of Americans who have some degree of anxiety about water. The program’s goals are to eliminate fear, build comfort, and teach basic water safety and survival skills. Learning starts on dry land, and confidence is built step by step both in and out of the water. Identify, understand, and manage fear in a safe, supportive environment. SwimReady isn't a traditional swim class. We focus on establishing comfort in the water. Once accomplished, many students continue their swimming journey. Some learn formal swim strokes, are able to go boating, enjoy the beach or participate in water aerobics classes. We offer one to two adult group Swim Ready classes per summer. Groups typically have 2-4 participants. Students gain comfort from sharing their stories, and the supportive group dynamic contributes to the success rate. Fear of water issues can also be worked on in private and semi-private lessons.

Home Pool Safety AssessmentWe evaluate your pool and recommend strategies for creating safe pool protocols, taking into account the shape, dimension, depth, deck, unique features and property location of your pool. We propose a site specific Emergency Action Plan (EAP) which helps keep swimmers safe in case of lightening and other emergencies. We recommend appropriate safety equipment and its proper placement. If owner has not already invested in rescue equipment, such as a reaching pole or buoy, this equipment must be placed on site before any teaching can start in the pool. The Home Pool Safety Assessment takes place three to five days before lessons start so the homeowner has time to obtain any missing equipment. The assessment helps the instructor become familiar with the pool and the property so that lessons can be as safe as possible.
Required before teaching in any backyard pool. Cost: $75. Good for two years, and forever if teacher remains the same. Re-newal after two years with a new teacher: $50. |
