INDOOR FALL/WINTER CLASSES / CLIFTON, NJ

• Students eligible to be vaccinated must have the highest level of covid-19 vaccination recommended by the CDC. Go to the CDC Covid Info Page to learn more. VAX card must be shown at first lesson.
• Students 5 years and under who are not vaccinated can take private Physical Distance Swim Lessons. A vaccinated guardian must accompany the child in the water. If an unvaccinated child has had covid, or there are other circumstances you wish us to take into account, please call or email and we'll consider each student's circumstances as to eligibility for 1:1 classes.
• We cannot teach unvaccinated adults in our indoor facility.
• Private, and "bubble" group classes available up to 4 students. No public group classes.
• Anyone accompanying a student must be masked in the facility.

OUTDOOR WARM WEATHER CLASSES

• Vaccinated students can choose between conventional swim lessons or Physical Distance lessons. Vax card must be shown at the first lesson.
• Unvaccinated students can also choose between Physical Distance lessons and conventional lessons. The instructor may ask status of student's and family's vaccination to help him/her determine if they will wear a face shield or mask during the lessons.
• Private, and "bubble" group classes available up to 4 students.
• Accompanying guardians should stay 6' from others while on deck.

It's reassuring to learn that, according to the CDC:

"There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools or hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g. with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.”

What actions is LifeCycle Swim School taking to help stop the spread of COVID-19?

• Pool infrastructure such as hand-railings and coping will be cleaned / disinfected by the instructor between students.
• Swim equipment and toys will be cleaned / disinfected between students.
• Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes are provided at pool side for clients.

Do clients need to follow any protocols before, during or after lessons?
Yes. Clients should:

• For outdoor lessons, arrive with masks on; and remove masks once situated 6' from anyone else.
• Stay 6' apart from others while on the property.
• For indoor lessons, anyone accompanying a student should stay masked while in the facility.
• Follow instructor's directions as to where to put belongings.
• Clean and sanitize your seating/table area just before departure - disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer provided.
• Depart with masks on.

Are your instructors vaccinated?
Yes. Our instructors are vaccinated per current CDC recommendations, and will show vax cards upon request.

Are students expected to show proof of vaccination?
For winter/summer 2022 students will need to show proof of vaccination. Vax card PDF images are uploaded during the registration process.

What are the plans for outdoor summer swim lessons?
We teach out of pools in Montclair, NJ, and we also make house calls for those who have their own pools.
Physical Distance swim lessons available for unvaccinated students.
Standard, close-proximity swim lessons available for vaccinated students.
 
Does LifeCycle Swim School still offer home pool lessons?

What can students and guardians do to help keep swimming safe?

• Don’t attend class if student is sick. Re-schedule at no extra charge.
• When swimming resumes, shower with soap and water before class.
• Follow all CDC guidelines for cleaning, traveling and if sick. Stay up to date with guidelines by visiting CDC.gov.
• Visit the CDC COVID-19 prevention page.
• If you have a pool, test the water regularly, and treat if necessary to maintain safe swimming water.

How do I cancel a class if student is sick?
LifeCycle pool students should cancel/reschedule classes online:

• ​Create an account in our scheduling software. This can be done when you register, or by following prompts on a class confirmation email.
• Canceling/Rescheduling can be done online outside of 24 hours from the lesson time.  Sign into your account, or click on the prompt in a confirmation email.
• If you need to cancel/reschedule within 24 hours of the class, email jen@lifecycleaquatics.com

Home Pool Lesson students must email to cancel/reschedule - it cannot be done online.


Once indoor lessons resume, what actions is Clifton Sports and Fitness Club (CSFC), our indoor pool host, taking to mitigate the virus?

• The pool water is being tested at least 5x per day, and treated as necessary.
• The water is tested by the NJ Dept. of Health 1x per week to ensure water is safe. Remember, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through properly maintained pool water.
• CSFC will execute a top-to-bottom cleaning of every surface in every area of the building during the shut-down period.
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of bathroom areas.
